Catchpoint's New Node to Node Feature Removes Corporate Blind Spots

At Catchpoint, we release new features approximately seven times annually. Catchpoint’s previous release, Andante, includes a variety of updates and new features, including a powerful new smartboard redesigned to be more intuitive and help our users find solutions faster, additional metrics to strengthen our unique RUM solution, and the ability to generate alerts for workforce experience based on issues your Digital Experience Score identifies.  

Of equal importance, we’ve made various improvements to our already unparalleled node coverage, including adding Node-to-Node tests, which through utilizing already deployed enterprise nodes, help our customers monitor network performance and diagnose issues across locations (e.g., data centers, cloud locations, and branch offices). We’ll get more into that in a moment.  

What’s an enterprise node and why do we need them?  

We first introduced enterprise nodes to allow our customers to easily monitor network connections and application performance within the physical perimeter of their corporate offices. Enterprise nodes are available as agentless software or as a portable device and can be placed inside headquarters, branch locations, factories, or anywhere employees are located.  

Utilizing Catchpoint’s advanced synthetics solution, with over 20 pre-packaged monitor types, enterprise nodes provide the ability to accelerate resolution of problems inside the firewall. Customers can also benefit from a custom monitor feature whereby organizations can deploy their own monitoring code and reuse existing scripts to monitor almost any type of application or service, such as VoIP.

A node can also be deployed within a datacenter or cloud environment to monitor network connectivity and application performance.

New Node-to-Node tests help monitor workforce communication between locations

Recently, more and more customers requested the ability to monitor communication between locations, and with our new Node to Node feature, we have delivered this.  

Identify issues within your infrastructure  

The Node-to-Node test feature enables you to configure a mesh of tests across your enterprise nodes to improve network reliability by understanding the percent of packet loss, latency or jitter within your infrastructure. With the results provided, teams can visualize the results in a simple matrix view, monitor network performance, and crucially, diagnose connection issues across your locations.

Reduce noise with customized notifications

Node-to-Node alerts have also been added to the Alert Log, giving organizations the opportunity to create customized notifications for current alert statuses, duration, and determine threshold settings.
