As our society’s reliance on online systems, applications, and cloud services grows, so too does the cost of performance issues within those systems. Whether a business relies on external-facing systems such as websites and public applications, internal networks and apps, or some combination of the two, a failure within those systems is going to hamper employee productivity and/or consumer satisfaction. This problem is particularly prevalent for businesses that have to monitor access and connectivity of applications across multiple locations.

The fact of the matter is that just about any company – be it a chain of retail stores, a bank with multiple locations, a call center servicing people around the globe, or even just a business with a single location that has multiple first and third party applications – can benefit from monitoring capabilities on their premises. The last thing you want is to be unable to investigate an issue within your system until it’s too late and your revenue has already been impacted, or to rely on non-technical users to troubleshoot those issues (“Um, I can’t find ‘command prompt’ on my browser…”).

Yet for years, the best solutions available didn’t adequately solve the problem; they were either difficult to manage or scale effectively, too old to keep up with the growth of new services, or came with exorbitant up-front costs.

It was with that in mind that we’ve launched our latest product: the OnPrem Agent, which brings the full capability of Catchpoint’s robust synthetic monitoring tool directly to a business’s location. Able to be run from a small 4×4 PC, a rackable server, or a virtual machine with Windows or Linux operating systems, the OnPrem Agent allows companies to cater its many options to suit their specific needs and budgets. That includes monitoring of performance at the first mile and data centers, connectivity to first party and cloud applications at branch offices and store locations, development and QA testing of new products, and more.
